4th August 11 - Other recent races

Peter Barry was busy in Wicklow also when he took part in the Beast of the East Olympic distance triathlon.  The 1500m swim took place in Lough Dan with the 40k bike course taking in some very steep hills followed by a tough 10k run.  Peter emerged 45^th out of the water but after posting the 12^th fastest bike split, it brought him well up the field to finish 18^th overall in 2.23.08.

Aidan McCarthy travelled to Kinsale to do their Sprint distance triathlon which has one of the toughest runs of any race on the calendar.  He finished in 1.24.06.
