14 Feb 2010 Anne Valley 5 Mile Road Race The 4th annual Anne Valley 5mile road race took place last weekend with a record entry of over 360 runners taking part. The day was perfect for a run, bright and sunny but cold, however the runners weren’t long warming up on the famous hills of the course which had some fabulous views with the old castle ruins in the background. Aubrey Storey has training for his upcoming Ironman in mind at all times so he ran from Tramore to Dunhill before the race which was obviously a great warm up for him as he had a brilliant race to finish 8th overall in 28.53mins. Paul Hallahan was next home in 33.34mins with Dermot Power not far behind in 34.12mins. Brothers Tom Brennan and John Brennan were next to finish in 35.04 and 36.52 with Chris Morrissey only seconds behind in 36.54. Siobhán Dunphy had a great race to finish in 37.29 with Carol Sinnott delighted with her race in 42.41. Olive Costello had a great race also to knock almost 3mins off last year’s time to finish in 45.21mins. All finishers were treated to a medal made from chocolate which was a nice surprise.
