Half Ireman National Champs

The National middle distance championships were held in Groomsport in Co. Down recently with almost 200 competitors from the UK and Ireland vying for the top spots.  Aubrey Storey, not long back after competing in Ironman Switzerland, was our only competitor.  The 1.9k swim involved 2 laps with 3 laps on the 90k fast bike course.  The 21k run was technical involving running from road to off road to coastal path to beach. 

Aubrey emerged 29^th out of the water but had a blistering bike to post the 5^th fastest split of the day.  He followed this up with the 11^th fastest run of the day to finish 6^th overall in 4.35.16, winning a bronze medal in his age-group.
