1st October 2010 - Black Sod Triathlon ends the season The final National Series triathlon of season took place in west Mayo recently with 220 athletes from all over Ireland taking part in the Black Sod Triathlon. The competitors were unlucky as the weather was horrible, wet and windy, probably the worst weather for any race this year. Stephen Doyle was our only competitor in this Olympic distance tough course, with much of the run off road. He had a brilliant swim, as always, to emerge 3rd out of the water but he lost a few places on the bike but gained them back again on the run to finish 13th overall in 2.25.23. A great result only a week after doing Kenmare half Ireman.
