20th Sept 2010 - Munster Express/Caulfields Supervalue 10k fun run Over 1000 runners and walkers took to the streets of Waterford recently to take part in the annual 10k run in aid of the Waterford Hospice. We had a small entry from the club take part as many of us were away in Kenmare at the Half Ireman but those that did participate did themselves proud. Pauline Lambe, who has had a great season this year after winning the Ger Wyley series over the summer (setting a few new course records in the process) had a brilliant run and was on course to be first from the club home until her husband Barry ran past her (without a backward glance!) with about 1k to go, to finish 10th overall in 37.42mins. Pauline finished 1st lady overall in 12th place in 37.51min, over 2mins ahead of the next female. Paul Wyse also had a great race to finish 21st overall in 39.03. Dermot Power and Michael Cox were next over the finish line in 43.46mins and 44.38mins with Chelley Brennan having a great run to finish in 48.08mins. Margo ODowd, Jenny Kervick, Edwina Butler and Martin Flynn looked on this as a fun day out and enjoyed themselves laughing and talking the whole way round. They all finished together in 56.15mins.
