Training Timetable - May 10 - Sept 10

Monday          Sea Swim in Dunmore East

                        Meet at Councillors beach car park at 6.30pm

                        various distances - suit beginner to advanced

                        (wetsuit and 2 swim hats required)

Tuesday          Track session at Regional Sports Centre (RSC) 6-7pm

                        (training with athletic clubs – costs €2.)

                        10 week race with Comeragh Cycle club meeting at Carrolls Cross at 7pm       

                        Fast pace – costs €6 per night   - approx 25 miles

                        (Need to be member of Cycling Ireland or get One day licence per race)

                                                *********

                        Club cycle meeting at IDA centre on Cork road at 7pm

                        Approx 20 miles, moderate to fast pace

                        (Need helmet and water bottles)

Wednesday     Reps (run) session in Peoples Park

                        Meet at Coffee shop entrance at 6.30pm

                        Various distances and speeds. (eg. 1000m, 800m, 400m)

Thursday        Club Bike Time Trial (TT)  -     distance 10 miles         

                        (slowest go first, fastest last)

                        Meet at Williamstown (Farronshoneen) roundabout at 6.30pm

                        (need helmet and water bottle)

Friday             Day of rest!!

Saturday         Run in Portlaw woods

                        Meet at 10am at soccer pitch (on Waterford side of Portlaw)

                        A hilly run of various distances, 6-12 miles

Sunday            Cycle – meet at 9.30am at Bank of Ireland (Brown’s rd)

                        2 groups, fast and moderate

                        Approx 50 miles but can cater for shorter distances for newcomers

                        (Need helmet and water bottles and food)

PRE RACE

Waterford Triathlon T-Shirt/Fleece!, clothes to warm up in, rain jacket?

SWIM

Wet suit, swim hat (x2), tri suit, goggles, nose clip ?, glide stick/vegetable oil (or similar, to help get wetsuit on/off), watch, sunscreen, ground towel to wipe feet on after swim

CYCLE

Bike, helmet, cycle shoes, sunglasses, water bottles, food/energy bars, saddle bag/tool kit/spare inner tube/oil, pump, bike computer, race belt.

RUN

Runners (with elastic laces).

POST RACE

Waterford Triathlon T-Shirt/Fleece!
